WFX in the Pacific
Our work in the Pacific is funded by the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) through the Women Accelerating Vibrant Enterprises in Southeast Asia and the Pacific (WAVES).
Past Trainings
for WSMEs in
Papua New Guinea
In 2021, ADB partnered with the Center for Excellence in Financial Inclusion (CEFI) to train women- owned small businesses in Papua New Guinea.

Close to 200 women participated in the capacity building trainings aimed at improving skills in digital financial literacy, business planning, and e-commerce.
Past Hackathon
(Technology Innovation Challenge)
In 2021, WFX conducted a hackathon to identify a solution that will support the collection and analysis of business data for WSMEs in the Pacific which ultimately will help banks and financial institutions to make informed lending decisions that are gender-considerate.
The selected solution is a data collection app provider from Viet Nam. It is now being piloted by a financial institution in Papua New Guinea.
