More about our work

Technology Innovation Challenges

We organized Technology Innovation Challenges in Pakistan and Papua New Guinea to discover alternative methods of credit scoring that support the collection and analysis of business and other non-traditional data for women-owned small- and medium-sized enterprises (WSMEs) that will assist banks and Financial Institutions to make informed and gender considerate lending decisions. The selected solutions are now being piloted by financial institution partners in the said countries.

Capacity Development Trainings for Women SMEs in the Pacific

We trained 350 women SMEs on digital financial literacy, business planning and debt management, and e-commerce across Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

gWFX Work in Sustainable Finance

gWFX is conducting a business development study covering Georgia, Pakistan and Lao PDR to identify opportunities and constraints of financial institutions face in providing green lending to women MSMEs and to examine the potential for green lending projects for SMEs in these countries.

In Malaysia, a consulting firm is being recruited to prepare a comprehensive nationwide market study to evaluate the affordable green housing market, the supply of conventional and green residential mortgage finance that is provided for new developments, and the demand for green housing mortgage finance.

gWFX is preparing a study to look into the fintech landscape in the Philippines, Viet Nam, and Indonesia. It will feature a high level research/current state assessment and prevalent trends regarding the regulatory, competitive and demographic landscape in the aforementioned countries.

gWFX has partnered with a financial institution in Viet Nam to support it in its efforts to be “greener” in its lending activities and build its capacity to properly assess inherent climate change risk in its lending portfolio.
